It is with a heavy heart that we have had to postpone the release of A Space For The Unbound so that we could come up with new plans and ensure that our games are released as they are and live up to the values we and our community believe in and live by. To date, PQube Games still refuses to hand us control of console releases. Accordingly, we also announce that we have terminated our contract with PQube Games. We have to rise up against exploitative publishers and raise our voices about this issue so that similar things don’t happen again in the future.
Since the revelation of this issue, we clearly can no longer trust PQube Games or continue the collaboration to release A Space For The Unbound because PQube Games have failed not only in good faith, but also in carrying out their obligations to us as publishers because this is a predatory practice. We are devastated to learn that the party we have chosen to work with has committed this kind of disgraceful act and the game project we have been working on for 7 years has been exploited in such a way. No specific release date has been set for the game at the time.
We have just learned the truth about the actual amount of funds and their intentions in March 2022. Pixelated narrative adventure A Space for the Unbound will be making its way to Switch this year from publisher PQube and. In addition, PQube Games also utilizes these funds as a tool to increase their share of revenue share slyly. Instead of handing the funds over to us as it should be, PQube Games actually closed the facts about the amount of the funding and turned it into a recoupable minimum guarantee that we would have to pay back later. Unfortunately, PQube Games intentionally hides information about this funding and uses it as a ploy for their own personal commercial interests. under-represented or under-heard, especially in a pandemic situation.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020, PQube Games took advantage of our position and identity as a game developer from Indonesia to obtain a grant from a well-known console company, where this fund was intended to help game developers from third world countries and minorities.
